Madie Lawrence (they/she) is a Toronto-based trumpet player and music director with over 10 years of experience. An ARTS graduate from Alexander Mackenzie High School (2021), Madie recently completed their Honours Bachelor of Music in Performance at Wilfrid Laurier University under the direction of Guy Few.
In addition to ensemble work, Madie is a National Gold Medalist with the Royal Conservatory of Music, a 1st place award recipient from the American Guild of Music, and an International Music Festival and Competition Gold Medalist.
Theatre credits include Heathers and Man of La Mancha (Community On Stage), Hello, Dolly!, The Music Man, and Jesus Christ Superstar (College Light Opera Company), as well as West Side Story (Theatre Ancaster). Music directing credits include Come Fram Away (ActOut! Children’s Drama W), Legally Blonde (Laurier Musical Theatre), and Matilda (BurlOak Theatre Group). Madie also served as Assistant Music Director for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with Shifting Ground Collective.
